I’m reading a great book called: “When Life Changes or You Wish it Would by Carol Adrienne, Ph.d. It’s packed full of psychological and spiritual takes on life changes, the necessity of it, the meaning of crisis and learning to go-with-the-flow. It also delves heavily into the law of attraction. It was written in 2002, long before “The Secret” came out.
The book is also packed full of inspiring quotes, mini-stories and excerpts from famous philosophers and poets. Chapter 5 opens with this beautiful poem by Rumi:
A craftsman pulled a reed from the reedbed,
cut holes in it, and called it a human being.
Since then, it’s been wailing a tender agony
of parting, never mentioning the skill
that gave it life as a flute
of parting, never mentioning the skill
that gave it life as a flute
