GM and I were finally able to get together for seaweed salad at Sushi Ra. It was great! But it wasn’t on the main menu. You have to get it from the sushi menu. Also, if you go – try the shrimp tempura (yum!)
GM and I are always recommending books to each other.
I told GM about the Narcissism book (see previous post) & he seemed very interested & wanted to read it. My future ex has it now, but as soon as it goes back to the library GM will be the first to know.
Anyway, GM recommended a book he’s really enjoying right now, called “porchtalk“
It’s all about slowing down and savoring life.
I just started a new book by Thomas Moore called Dark Nights of the Soul. I haven’t gotten that far into it yet, but I like the concept so far. He’s saying that when we go through our “dark nights of the soul”, whether it be an illness, a divorce, any kind of a loss that throws us into a prolonged “dark” period, usually accompanied by a degree of withdrawal from the world as we know it, we should look at it as good and necessary. He says rather than feel we need to rush to “get better”, flow through the period and accept the many gifts it brings us.
I’m looking forward to reading more.

If you like Thomas Moore’s writings, you may want to visit a blog dedicated to his work called Barque at http://barque.blogspot.com . It has links to interviews and articles about his award-winning Dark Nights of the Soul. Barque is associated with a free forum where Moore is now posting during his U.S. tour for his new book, A Life at Work.
